places to go, people to meet

My partner and i are off to Argentina for 3 weeks in May. Given the size of the country, we have narrowed down what we would like to do...we are already based in BA for the first week...but we would like to do a couple of days in Uruquay, Salta (for the train to the clouds), travel by bus over Andes (either to or from Chile), Iguazu falls (and poss a few days in that part of brazil). Is this over ambitious for the amount of time?...

I'm Andrew and have been to Argentina a couple of times and planned some holidays there too.

If you are generally happy to fly between the various centres and meet that costs, then three/four centres would not be too much. But the distances are vast and there is so much to see. There is Mendoza and the wine country, Calafate for the glaciers - Perito Moreno is fabulous as well as Ushuia.

I would recommend you stay at least two nights at Iguazu and visit both the Brazilian and Argentine sides as they give totally different perspectives on the majesty of the falls.

Have a great time

All id say is u need to fly to do this schedule. U need two days at the falls to see both sides Argentian and Brazil the are so different shame to miss going all that way. I didnt go to Uruquay. I drove the Andes with Argi friends. Do u speak Spanish ? You need it in the smaller places. BA is fab and I really enjoyed Salta.

Have a great time. xx
