places to go, people to meet
This site is about people rather than body parts. Where possible, profile pictures should be of you and show your face. For many gay men, this shouldn't be a problem. Graphics, cartoons, posters, landscapes, and copyright images are not permitted: but not-for-profit groups (and not commercial businesses) are allowed to use their logos.
However, members who live in countries where homosexuality is illegal, and where gay men are persecuted, may not be able to do so. In situations like this, a more discreet photo which doesn't show your face is acceptable, but the photo must be of you as an adult and up to date. We do not allow thumbnail images of babies, children or which appear to be of minors.
Your profile thumbnail should not show your genitalia, a close-up of your rear or be otherwise sexually-explicit.
The decision over what is or is not acceptable as a profile picture is made by the Network Administrator, and his decision is final.
Why do we do this?
It's not because we disapprove of sexually-explicit material. We've had extensive conversations with many members who've made it clear to us that they approve of this policy, because it makes the Gay Travellers Network more of a visible community of people, rather than an internet warehouse of cock shots (there are plenty of those).
When you reply to a message or make a comment here, it should be clear that you're more than - bluntly - just a dickhead or an asshole.
