I managed to find one gay bar in Leon this last January.  It was a slow weeknight, so there were only 6 of us there.  Me, the bartender, a male couple, and two transvestites or pre-ops transexuals.  It was a nice place, with rainbow lights in the front.

The gay-friendly restaurant, Venive, is closed. The owners were mugged/robbed and left Leon.

Sorry to hear that Phillip, that's where I dove and there can be days where the weather and wind are bad. Makes for an interesting panga ride though.

I learned to scuba dive in Nicaragua last year, what a fantastic place and the prices are even better. Love Nicaragua.

recently return from UK after 5 months being with my lovely british boyfriend, everything is absolutely fascinating over there....but now am back in my beautiful country...will visit my home town again (Leon), the paradise (Ometepe Island) and perhaps the mountains in the north!

I'll be in Leon from January 2-5, and Managua January 1 & 6.  Then to work out in the hills, building a water supply for a village.  Any suggestions of connecting in Leon would be appreciated.
