with what has recently happened in pakistan and china as far as flooding is concerned, and the increased dry spell in brasil, can anyone still not believe that things are changing and not for the better? if we simplify our lives, using less products we can help contribute, but until we have a major effort by the developed and developing world, our efforts are but a "needle in a haystack".

the recent landslides in the state of rio de janeiro are one more confirmation that unregulated growth puts us all in danger. over 40 people killed senselessly.

well all I can say is tha on the east coast, the people(well the free thinkers anyway) just can't believe that the Canadian Gov can be so ineffective and capitalistic in that whole issue. thinking that we are not part of the problem. They are trying to convince the population but they risk a Non confidence vote if they don't change there tunes...

interesting to see how the media is interpreting the failure of cop15. the nytimes today praised the valiant efforts of president obama in pulling this deal off. but if u look at the brasilian press it is a complete failure, what about in the country where u live? what is the press saying?

Jacques-
We are opening our resort here in Montana. We have been coming to Montana for years, and fell in love with the state. We finally moved here 7 years ago. The resort we are optioning on now is in Maxville, Montana. Its about 47 miles outside of Missoula.
My suggestion to you when you build your home or business is to purchase solar or wind as you go. Buy a system that you can "add" to as money affords it. This way, you dont have such a huge upfront cost on equipment. Also, this way we didnt have to have a loan payment on equipment. We purchased as we went. Look in loans and grants in your state. Many states have programs, you just have to look for them. Let me know if you have any questions?

have u guys checked out a publication by the nature conservancy on eco tourism? i know that they r doing a lot in costa rica, helped in a large debt for land swap there.

Where are you starting your resort? I want to sell everything within 2 years and move to Costa Rica to open a wood oven pizzeria. eventually building something off grid, in a earth house.

My partner Dave and I have lived "off grid" for 7 years. We love it, and knowing that are carbon footprint is so much less than before. Our home runs on solar and wind. We have everything the "modern" home has. Plus- we have no electric bill each month.
We hope to incorporate as many Green ideas into the resort we are purchasing. It may be hard to do at first, but we plan to add things as we go!
