My favorite house in Amsterdam: Museum Willet-Holthuysen.

The last residents of the building at Herengracht 605 were Abraham Willet (1825-1888) and his wife Louisa Holthuysen (1824-1895), a wealthy couple. The will of Louisa Willet-Holthuysen stated that the house, including the furniture, was left to the city of Amsterdam on condition that after her death it would be a publicly accessible museum. On May 1, 1896 the doors of the museum first opened.

Great idea for this group! Often these historic sites and houses or private homes open to the public at times have such a great charm, with magnificent gardens and surroundings.
