Meet Me In Hawaii

Hopefully, a place online, for people to arrange meetings when traveling to the Hawaiian Islands. The local Gay online service just doesn't work.

Hi

Aussie guy visiting Waikiki Nov 8 - 10 and Kauai Nov 11 - 18. Looking to get tips on cool things to see and places to go - especially in Kauai.

This is one of our favourite nature walks in Honolulu. This is such an amazing place moments from the city centre, but as you begin your walk it can feel like a is tropical rainforest in Borneo!

The day before was rainy so the path is a bit muddy and slippery, but enough stones and re-enforcement in some areas of the walk make it a safe. The walk immediately starts in a forest atmosphere, with beautiful tropical flowers and trees greeting you at the entrance. Just a few moments walk further, one could hear the trickle crackle sound of a beautiful natural stream and small waterfall among the greenery and trees. My friends from Prague came with me and they are avid flora and fauna lovers, immediately the shutters on their cameras went into overtime, as everywhere one turns there is natural beauty!

Further along the walk the path becomes even more uneven, but it is easy to find a big stick along the path that makes for a perfect walking stick. If you are lucky, you might find one at the beginning of the trail, left behind from other hikers who finished the walk and are "recycling" their walking sticks.

The bamboo forest makes an eerie sound as the bamboo trees rub each other in the wind. Be enthralled by the many long branches and twine dangling from trees, stunning mountain vistas, exotic birds chirping around you, one would not feel surprised to witness a shirtless Tarzan swinging wildly from the vines above.

Finally get an encouraging glimpse of the towering waterfall above, the sight is breathtaking and well worth the hike.  Standing by the waterfall feels very rewarding and looks very inviting to just strip off what you are wearing and jump in for a splash, and many do ignoring the posted signs to the contrary. Sitting and having a rest on a bench conveniently near the waterfall welcomes the cautious traveller instead.

Have a snack and some water is a wonderful idea before heading back the same way we came from.  Each time I take this hike I notice something different, it never feels the same. Magical !

Anyone want to go to Hawaii this summer? Am thinking about Kauai and wouldn't mind some easy going company, nothing more, just good companionship. eats, beach, lounging, naps, and relaxation
