Comment by Pewit on December 1, 2012 at 22:42 Hi Dan
Welcome to the group.
You may be aware that the Gay Games are coming to Cleveland, Ohio in August 2014 and sailing is one of the sports on offer.
We have just finalised an agreement with the Edgewater Yacht Club to host the event and registration will open shortly. There will be two divisions - one for competitive sailors and the other for recreational.
If you're not interested in racing they will also require volunteers to help run the event.

Comment by Steve on October 2, 2011 at 20:17 What is it with captains of big power yachts. Some act like playground bullies, pushing smaller boats around to get the prized spot on the dock, acting like they own the marina. Really !!! Grow up, have some respect, and show some consideration towards your fellow boaters. After all, everyone’s here to have a good time.
Gulf of Corinth
We’ve sailed through the Gulf of Corinth a few times in the past three years but only to get to or from Aegean to the Ionian Greek islands. This year after passing through the Corinth Canal, we decided to spend some time exploring the gulf and we’re glad we did. The Gulf of Corinth the extends from Rion and Andirrion to the Corinth Canal. The north side of the gulf is indented with numerous natural bays providing good shelter from the winds. There are man-made harbors on both the N and S sides of the gulf. The westerly wind is pretty consistent which requires fairly close-hull sailing, a bit more challenging for us on a catamaran.
One of our favorite stops turned out to be Trizonia. It wasn’t mentioned in any of our Greek guide books so we were surprised to find such a developed harbor and extensive marina on this small Greek island. A water taxi offers daily transportation to / from Glifadha on the mainland every hour. The village has several restaurants (tavernas), a mini market and a nice hotel. The water is crystal clear and the fishing is decent too.
