I am visiting Singapore from 19th to 26th January. Still looking for things to do, places to stay (already have 2 nights booked in Chinatown) and great people to meet... Any recommendations, any upcoming festives or events on that week? Someone told me a week in Singapore is too long as it is quite a small and boring city, I don't think so... What do you guys say?

For photography and a bit out of the city, consider Sungei Buloh (conservation wetlands) or Kranji War Memorial. There's also Labrador Park - which has some British war memorials.
For the "real" Chinatown, go to Bencoolen street / Bugis area.
As for food, there's too many locations to recount here. Check out HungryGoWhere.com for more specific suburbs and local recommendations.
Singapore is a safe country - you won't get mugged at 3am on the streets and taxis are plentiful if you get lost.

Greetings, I will be visiting Singapore for approximately 1.5 days (March 3-4) and would like suggestions on things to do that are outside of the normal tourist traps but exciting for someone who like Asian cuisine, photography and the less traveled but safe paths.

In that case, the city sights to chek out at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Art Museum and Marina Bay Sands.

I will be there later in February so unfortunately miss out on the new year festival, the aussie bars sound good though, thanks.

Chinese New Year falls on Feb 11 & 12 in 2013, so if you're in town before that date, Chinatown is a sure bet to see the hustle and bustle.
If you're looking for a more sedate, Aussie bar experience, check out Clark Quay or Boat Quay.
