My conclusion at the time was that maybe I was arrogant thinking this and that English should not get too bossy! But as an English teacher I suppose we have ulterior motives! ! I'm waiting for Greece to fall out of Europe so I can go and teach there. As a non European I haven't got the right to work there. Are you looking for TEFLers then?
