getting ready

Posted on April 13, 2010 at 15:22 0 Comments

this year i plan on running my first half marathon. i have been running for a couple of years now off and on, done a few 10K's, 8K's, always running against myself, which i guess is what runners do. this year i decided to get serious. hopefully i will be running it with my niece from seattle, washington here in rio de janeiro. she had a custom of running half's and my older brother, her father, walking half's with her. he died suddenly last year and it was then that i decided that i would try… Continue

getting some good response

been pleased with the limited but good response to my group "green gays". i thoroughly believe we can be a force in this movement. i work with several ngo's in the environmental arena and am always telling them that they need to target our community, if they don't let's target ourself. a quiet revolution would be good.

started a group today to see what is our opinion on being green. how concerned are we about climate change, carbon emissions, rising temperatures, and the rising tides that go along with it. the disappearance of snow caps, the artic, etc. i feel that we have a lot that can help change the world, it is mobilizing that power that is important.

it has been around for awhile

reflecting on what i said yesterday, the attached is from today's nytimes. it show that what we r talking about has been being discussed for a couple of hundrer years now. if we continue to discuss for the next 200 years, there will be no one left to talk about the issue.

where are we headed????

Posted on November 17, 2009 at 19:38 0 Comments

i have been reading with true amazement the politics going on with regards to cop15. i can't really believe or understand the positions that both the united states and china are taking with regards to establishing limits to reduce carbon emissions. some of us will have children, grandchildren and hopefully great grandchildren to pass this on to, with remorse, regret embarrassment.

we r playing with a time bomb, and the time is running out, and this is no hollywood, or bollywood film,… Continue

In the Athletes group, you mentioned trying to start a running group for HIV + guys.  Why do you need to limit it to HIV + guys?  Frontrunners is a gay running (& walking) group, at least around the USA and maybe a few foreign cities.  Why not start such a group there?

Thanks for asking -- but sorry to tell you my sister died 4 years ago. It happened pretty quickly after she had a visit from my mom at Christmas time. (My mom died about two years later)
Sounds like things are going well for you. Very glad to hear that.

I need to log in more. I'm living in L.A. now -- for just over a year. Still doing the freelance thing - but I'm almost always working for CBS (and occasionally ABC).
Nothing going on socially (sigh).
How's life down south? I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get to go to Brazil for the Olympics -- but that's a few weeks away.
How's you?
