About Me/Us
Hello All

I live in Aleppo, northern Syria. For those who don't know about it I uploaded some nice pics from around the city. I really hope you like them.
You could find my profiles on other sites under the nick "mazaj" or "mazaj75" :)

I'm hoping to in days to come I could contribute more with information about Syria & the region. Meanwhile, if you're visiting the region & want some information about gay life in Syria, Lebanon, or Jordan, please drop a line. I will be happy to reply as soon as I can.

For those who want to know more about me, I think it's hard to discribe oneself, especially when wanting to give a good impression through written words.
Anyway, I always try to be a good friend; friendship is endless, crushes come & go. :-D

Yet, I do have a crush on you if you are 30+, stocky, have nice eyes, & a friendly smile. :-P

You could type either English or French. I can reply in either a very simple [rench, or a very good English.

That's all I can say now. PLEASE if you have anything to ASK just DO. I dont bite. UNLESS you wanted me to.

I'm in a relationship... Help & hanging out as friends is all I can offer. All what I want is to help & make new friendships along the way.

Have a gay day... :-)

Gay Syria (Updated)

Best Times To Visit

If you're looking for lots of gay activities, try to avoid coming in December and January; the only good activities that take place during those months are the New Year's Eve parties.

March and April are the best months to visit if you like to avoid the hot summers in Syria.

Check for Ramadan before you come, it is always a slow month.

About Damascus

Syria’s capital and the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city. It has been under variable rules through the ages; Aramean, Byzantine, Roman, and Arabian. This city was once the capital of an empire which stretched from Indus to the Pyrnees. Damascus is very rich in its archeological sites; the Omayad mosque, the old city with all its contents, the national museum where there is a superb collection from the Islamic art and other.

Syria

I love Syria, not because I’m Syrian, but because it’s a country anyone must love. Of course this might seem somewhat subjective or slanted; therefore I will try to give some mere facts about Syria for you to understand why I say “It MUST BE on your future travelling plans.”

Let’s start with what you are doing right now; you’re reading! Syria is known to be the home of the first known alphabetical system, at… Continue

Homosexuality in Syria

Posted on April 21, 2008 at 23:36 0 Comments

Syria was the set of many gay love stories in old Arabic literature. Modern Syrian writers have written great stories with explicit sexual content. Though most Syrians now feel that homosexuality & sexuality are taboos, I felt that many straight men are curious to talk about sexuality, but they are afraid how may that make them look in the eyes of religion & the rest of society.

For most Gay Arabs, Syria is considered to be a gay… Continue

Hi Mido, how great it is to hear from you again! I sincerely hope that all is well with you. I am fine, thank you for asking, and enjoying the bad weather reports from Northern Europe (including the UK!!) whilst enjoying blue skies and sunshine here in Gran Canaria! I should not laugh about it, but I cannot resist!
Big hugs from your friend,
Mark xxx

Hello Mido,

I have enjoyed reading your blog post on Aleppo, I am sure that it has given everyone just a small taste of what gay life is like in Syria. It has certainly wetted my appetite and am curious to find out more! We in Europe are subject to such negative and heavily biased reportage about Syria and the surrounding region. It would certainly be a big bonus to get an "insider" point of view for a change and especially from a gay man!! Hope to see more blogs from you on the site and a big thank you in advance.
