In late 1999, Brandon's POZ Social - NYC was created, and met every Wednesday night upstairs at the Stonewall Bar. The ad on page 12, April 28, 2000 issue of HX Magazine read:

By 2002, nationwide, other HIV+ social events and websites copied the "HIV+ only Social" idea. Examples of these social (non sexual) spin offs are: Dating websites like SIN, BE ONE CITY and POZ PERSONALS, countless Yahoo Groups, countless Google Groups and countless HIV+ only social (non sexual) events, bar nights, cruises, camping trips and now NING SOCIAL Groups world wide; just to name a few.

WHAT IS SEROSORTING / SAFE SEX SEROSORTING?

Serosorting / Safe Sex Serosorting - Having sex with your own HIV status, breaks the cycle of new HIV transmissions and therefore, makes safe sex safer. Serosorting - to some - means having unsafe sex (barebacking), segregation and to limit a person's choices of sexual partners. On the contrary, Serosorting UNITES society for a common goal and to maintain mankind's focus to reach that goal: To finally STOP the spread of HIV and make safe sex SAFER by physically BREAKING THE CYCLE of new HIV transmissions and making safe sex SAFER.

Serosorting and Safe Sex Serosorting will only stop the spread of new HIV transmissions - GUARANTEED. Serosorting never will stop other STD's, this is a lie. HOWEVER, if (and ONLY IF) you do not want other STD's, then use a condom, PERIOD. Therefore, when Serosorting is combined with safe sex (sex with condoms) Safe Sex Serosorting is realized and safe sex IS safer - GUARANTEED.
