After 31 years of vacations, with months in PV having super fun, I moved here fulltime 4/1/10. It is truly Paraiso. Beach, people, food, music, art, jungle, boating, scuba, fishing, parasailing, dancing, meeting and greeting! Add in beauty and here we are living a dream.
Hope to meet some of you if ever in town. SouthSide has about 21 gay bars plus shops and restaurants for all tastes and budgets.

Hola, Gary,
Hey, I have decided to go to Ajijic and join a week long seminar on how to retire in Mexico, Lake Chapala area in particular. It costs a bit but I think it will be worth it. All meals, hotel, sight seeing to Guadalajara and surrounds, seminars on taxes, housing, health issues and provisions, etc. etc. I hope it will be worth the time and money. I still hope to get some birding in while in the area and will definitely take the binocs with me when we go out. Kill two stones with one bird as they say. lol Have a lovely Thanksgiving!
Cheers, Terry P
Hi Gary,
Yes, Luke has a Latino partner and you described him perfectly. I have booked my flight to Guadalajara on Nov. 18 and plan to see the city for a few days then take a trip to Lake Chapala and do some bird watching and check out Ajijic. I really would like to drive to P.V. to see the sights on the way and maybe some good birding as well. I hope it's ok driving in Mexico since I'm renting but I've driven in worse places in this old world. I'm really excited about this trip. Do you have any idea how long it takes to drive from Guadalajara to P.V. or vice versa? I'm leaving on Sat. the 26th so if I come would plan on an early departure to be able to turn in my car and catch my light at 3:30 PM. Do you know if there are any Gringo Thanksgiving happenings in PV going on? Thanks for the info.
Cheers,
Terry P
Hi Gary,
Is that your pool in the slide show? It looks familiar. Do you know Luke Kost who lives in the building up behind the one in the photo and the top floor. He is tall and blond and has a little dog that he walks in the evenings on the beach and other places. It may not even be the same place but thought I'd ask. There were a lot of Canadians there the last time I visited. I may be down in PV for Thanksgiving. I'm actually visiting Guadalajara and will have a car so hope to make the trek over the mountains. It should be a fun trip. I'm planning on doing some serious birdwatching while there. It would be nice to find a nice gay man who speaks English and is into birding and knows all the good places to go to see them. :-) I can dream, right? :-) Take care,
Cheers,
Terry P
