Try our new smartphone app!

We're excited to be launching a new app for smartphones - it runs on all modern phones with browsers, including iPhone, Android and BlackBerry handsets - which we think will make it easier and more fun to link up with other Gay Travellers Network members near where you are when you're on the move.

You'll also be able to share tips on places to visit, eat, stay, shop and more; and you can easily browse the profiles of friends and other members local to you who are using the application.

If you've ever used an application like Foursquare, you'll find this familiar, because it uses the geolocation technology built into your phone to select places and find people local to you. All you need to do is go to http://app.doubledutch.me/gaytravellersnetworkapp and sign in with the email address and password you normally use for the Gay Travellers Network.

When you visit a place, this will be reflected on your Gay Travellers Network status update, and in our Latest Activity. And you can also send this to your Facebook page or Twitter account.

At the moment, we're beta testing it. It's a blank space, and if you're a smartphone user, we need you to sign in, use it and explore its features and possibilities. Its long term success is very much linked to your use and input, so we hope you'll want to try it.

We're planning to add a database of around 5 million locations to the application over the coming weeks, but we want to make this much more useful to gay men than other similar mobile services, so we'll be keen to have your recommendations for bars, clubs, resorts, hotels, restaurants, shops, saunas and more. As you visit a new venue, you can easily add tips and recommendations for other future visitors..
